In the fall we expanded Copper Shores Bridges programming to Baraga County, and starting in February we'll also be in Ontonagon County! Our signature program Getting Ahead is accepting applications now through January 10!
Counting is still ongoing, but we have a new record!
We're currently at $666,190.25 in donations! That's $7,053 more than our record year in 2022! We still have donations left to be processed as well, meaning we could still reach the $800,000 mark, which would mean $1 million in checks going out to our nonprofit community! Be sure to follow Copper Shores on social media so you don't miss the announcement of how much money was raised. Also, head over to our website to see photos from our GivingTuesday live event!
Spots available at Meet & Eat in Mohawk
Meet & Eat at Keweenaw Pines in Mohawk has room to feed more! This quiet and cozy site offers comforting feelings of home and freshly made meals five days a week at noon. People 60 years and older eat for free (with a recommended $8 donation for those who can contribute).
Sharing the Love with Subaru
We are excited to be a part of the 2024 Subaru Share the Love Event! As part of a national partnership with Meals on Wheels America, Subaru of America, Inc. and its retailers will donate a minimum of $300 to a charity, like Copper Shores Meals on Wheels, for every new vehicle leased or sold.
December Menu Highlight
December is full of holiday worthy meals that seniors are sure to enjoy! We’re proud to finish the year strong by providing locally sourced ingredients in every meal.
Processing pounds of produce
Our kitchen staff processed 69 pounds of peppers and nearly 300 pounds of local squash last month! We are so excited to be able to serve this local produce to seniors, all winter long!
Congratulations to our Bridges graduates
Earlier this month we celebrated our incredible Getting Ahead graduates with graduation ceremonies in Baraga and Houghton. Not only did we have the Getting Ahead graduates, but we welcomed Bridges alumni to celebrate the work they did in our Money Matters and Mind Matters programming! Congratulations to all of our graduates, we can't wait to see what you do next!
