Learning in the Garden
Join the Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative, Western UP Planning and Development Region, Michigan State University Upper Peninsula Research and Extension Center, and Upper Peninsula Farm to School for Learning in the Garden. Training takes place on May 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dollar Bay’s elementary school and will connect curriculum standards to hands-on garden activities.
🌱 Sales and seeds in your neighborhood
Pewabic Community Garden Plant Sale - May 24, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Trinity Episcopal Church in Houghton. They’re looking for donations like extra seedlings and starter plants.
Portage Lake Seed Library - You can donate or “check out” seeds at the Portage Lake District Library in Houghton. They’re also looking for volunteers to sort, label and restock seeds. The next meeting is at 6 p.m. on May 28 at the PLDL.
