Thank you, Keweenaw Co-op
When our walk-in cooler broke recently and internal temperatures began to rise, Keweenaw Co-op came to the rescue. They worked quickly and made room in one of their coolers for our food, allowing us to pick up daily ingredients each morning at 6 a.m. Thank you, Keweenaw Co-op for aiding one neighbor and helping countless more!
Meet other seniors at our Meet & Eat site in Mohawk
There are seats available at our Meet & Eat site in Mohawk. Join a group of your peers for a home-cooked meal at Keweenaw Pines, free for seniors 60 and older. Call at least one day in advance to join, see you at noon!
Staff Spotlight - Corinne Cortez
To see our kitchen now and reflect on how much has changed in two years is amazing, and Corinne Cortez has been integral to those changes! Her ability to adjust, lead, and work with others to transition an industrial kitchen from heat-and-serve meals to scratch-cooked meals has been essential and so appreciated. Corinne also finds ways to bring a smile and joy to the seniors that she rarely sees. She leaves an occasional note on a home delivered meal tray, advocates for favorite meals, and truly enjoys taking care of fellow staff. It's a joy to have Corinne as part of the Meals on Wheels team!
