No homebound senior should go without access to nutritious meals and social connection.
As the senior population continues to go, so too has the demand for home-delivered meal services. In the last three years, Copper Shores Meals on Wheels has doubled the number of people served daily, exceeding current organizational capacity.
In August, voters will have the opportunity to support the elders of Houghton County. We want to make sure every Houghton County senior in need has the opportunity to take advantage of our services. Read more about what this millage request means on our website.

Renovation updates from the Water St. Building
Construction has been underway at the Water St. Building for a few months now, with repairs to the roof, updates to the interior and additions to the outside. In June that will mean a disruption to services June 16-23 while the roof is being replaced. Meal deliveries will be made on Tuesday and Thursday that week. Meet & Eat sites will be closed for that entire stretch.

Staff Spotlight - Eric Rundman
Eric is a retired school teacher that was looking for a way to give back to his local community. He joined Meals on Wheels a year ago and we are delighted to have him as part of the meal delivery team. His quiet and caring manner is perfect for our seniors. They enjoy his smile, subtle sense of humor and how he notices and finds ways to make small improvements to the delivery service. Many seniors like routine and become dependent on patterns, and Eric excels in meeting and supporting the seniors on his route through consistent and reliable service. The staff appreciate his calm manner and the experience and perspectives he brings to our work. Thank you, Eric, for joining our team, caring so much for the seniors you serve and being the joy they look forward to seeing every day.
Noteworthy putting on benefit concert
Noteworthy Concert fundraiser is Friday, June 6 at 7 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Hancock. Noteworthy is collecting free-will offerings and this year, all proceeds go to Meals on Wheels!
June 2025 Menu Highlight
Summer is here, and so is the June menu. See what we’re serving seniors this month in our June 2025 Menu Highlight. The menu also goes into what service interruptions our seniors will have during our construction project at the kitchen.
