10th Anniversary Gala Event Schedule

This is subject to change. Fill out the form below this to receive email notifications about schedule changes.

5:30 p.m. - Doors Open

Doors will open at 5:30 sharp, with the two cash bars and gaming tables opening up. The two bars will feature signature drinks from our cocktail sponsor, Iron Fish Distillery, wine and beer. Each attendee will receive two complimentary drink coupons. In addition to the cash bar we'll have a photo booth area, light snacks until our small plate dinner is served, and a couple surprises you'll love!

5:30 -10:30 p.m. - Gaming Tables

Test your luck with our casino games located in the north mezzanine. Gaming options will include blackjack, roulette and craps. There will be no cash prizes for winners, but plenty of fun to be had supporting a great cause!

5:45 - 7:15 p.m. - Whiskey Tasting, courtesy of Iron Fish Distillery

Our friends at Iron Fish Distillery will guide you through a tour of their craft whiskey. Iron Fish is Michigan’s first farm distillery growing grain and distilling spirits, and barrel finishing sourced whiskey. They were founded by Michigan Tech alumni and are excited to show off some of their incredible whiskey, including their Copper Queen Whiskey (that's helped raise more than $10,000 for the Calumet Theatre), their signature Mad Angler and a new whiskey that features wheat grown in the Upper Peninsula.

6:00 p.m. - Opening Remarks + Champagne Toast

Join our President/CEO Kevin Store as he reflects on the first 10 years of our foundation's history. Kevin will highlight accomplishments, talk about where we're at now and highlight our organization's bright future. Following his remarks we'll come together for a champagne toast courtesy of the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University.

6:30 - 8 p.m. - Stations of Heavy Hors de Oeuvres

The innovative staff at Carved+Crafted Catering has put together an incredible James Bond-inspired menu that will include Mexican Shrimp Cocktail (inspired by License to Kill), Peterson's Smoked Salmon Mousse (inspired by Russia with Love), Beef Wellington (inspired by James Bond English), Roasted Cauliflower Masala (inspired by Octopussy), desserts like white chocolate mousse in chocolate tartlet with dark cherry sauce and whipped cream, and much, much more.

6:30 - 7:30 p.m. - Foundation Focus Mini Presentations

Leaders from Copper Shores will offer mini presentations about the work they do to make our community a more healthful place to live, work and play. A full schedule will be posted closer to the event. Each presentation should last about five minutes and will give people a much better picture of what Copper Shores is doing to improve our community on a daily basis.

7:30 p.m. - Live Auction + Mystery Box Opening

Get your (imaginary) auction paddle ready as Copper Shores unveils a lineup of incredible live auction items. Each item will be valued at at least $500 dollars with openings bids starting appropriately. After the live auction, all attendees who purchased mystery boxes will be asked to open their prize. The mystery boxes are made possible by our friends at Laiti Jewelers in downtown Houghton. Boxes have a value of at least $60 each, with the opportunity to win incredible prizes like a diamond.

8 - 11 p.m. - Live Music

Following our live auction the fun will really start with the Bluewater Kings Band from the Chicagoland area. The seven-piece band will infuse energy and fun, while filling the dance floor with an electric mix of popular songs ranging from Whitney Houston, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Frank Sinatra and more!

11 p.m. - Event Ends

Bond Voyage.
