Copper Shores Community Health Foundation is joining the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce for Wake UP Keweenaw, on Wednesday, November 11, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Bonfire in Houghton, to share information about Copper Shores Victim Support’s work within the community. Wake UP Keweenaw features speakers and panels that address topics and information relevant to the community and economic development of the Keweenaw.

During the event, Program Director Virginia Lambert will discuss the services provided by Victim Support, the progress the department has made in recent years and what they hope to accomplish in the future.

“When someone experiences crime or trauma, the impact reaches far beyond that individual,” said Lambert. “Their victimization can affect their family, their ability to work, their relationships and their sense of safety in our community. The Victim Support team is here to make sure no one has to navigate that experience alone, and we need businesses, nonprofits, service providers and community leaders to be part of that support system.”

By understanding the realities victims face when accessing services, we can build a stronger, safer and more compassionate Copper Country.
