Free suicide intervention training this summer
Copper Shores Outreach & Education is hosting free Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training on Thursday June 18, and Friday, June 19, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Baraga County Memorial Hospital in L’Anse. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. This two-day training is open to all Copper Country residents, and highly recommended for healthcare providers and emergency first responders.
