QPR Training

Question, Persuade, Refer.

QPR Promotion 2

Sign up for QPR Training in Baraga on May 15!

Copper Shores Outreach & Education, in conjunction with Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds, is hosting free suicide prevention training on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Ojibwa Community Library. The event is provided at no cost to the public.

What is QPR?

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer, three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

People trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor.

Those who are trained are educated about the known warning signs of a suicide crisis, including expressions of hopelessness, depression, giving away prized possessions, talking about suicide, securing lethal means and then taught how to respond.

Our next session is Wednesday, November 29 at 6 p.m. in L'Anse. Email Lisa Simpson by November 27 to join. More details available here
