The world has many barriers, both visible and not. Many of the barriers that citizens face are not visible, at least not upon first glance. Copper Shores Bridges’ Getting Ahead program offers an in-depth and personal look at the barriers that people face and how those barriers hold them in poverty or paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle.
Investigators who dedicate themselves to 16 sessions get the chance to discuss and break down the systems that create barriers together. They are connected with people who can help them hurdle that barrier and learn to hurdle on their own.
Getting Ahead creates an atmosphere where people can uplift each other and learn to be more stable and independent while creating a future story. The eight investigators who participated in the first session of Getting Ahead did just that.
