Congratulations to Marti Staresnick, Do Good Volunteer of September 2025!
"Marti has been the heart and soul of the Copper Country Angel Mission food pantry for at least 10 years. She keeps the data records necessary for USDA and Feeding America, has a running inventory of food available and does the food orders. Marti has developed relationships with local grocery stores and local farm-to-table producers to augment the food ordered through Feed America. She places an emphasis on nutrition and obtains fresh meats, dairy and produce for distribution. On top of that, she distributes food two days each week with a cheerful disposition. She fills the requests of those needing food and does so in a way that respects the dignity of the clients. The pantry is always organized and clean. Her diligence makes her volunteer position into a part-time job. Marti has trained others to assist her in the food pantry, but she is truly its heart and soul."
