Congratulations to Yvette Simmons, Do Good Volunteer of July 2025!
"Yvette is a person that gives to her family and community without asking anything in return. As a member of the Tribe's education committee, she has a passion for helping Baraga area youth thrive with activities. Yvette is constantly trying to better herself and the community. Her friends wonder how she finds the time to do all the things she does. She is simply amazing. Yvette is a mother and aunt, and is constantly driving to activities throughout the week, all while organizing the flag football program and other activities for local youth. She does all this while working two jobs, taking 13 credits for college and participating in the first Getting Ahead class at the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community's Niiwin Akeaa Community Center. Yvette, we tip our hat to you!"
