Freeman takes on new role at Copper Shores
Zane Freeman has embarked on a new professional journey at Copper Shores, starting recently as a Community Support Specialist in Outreach & Education. Freeman will be working across departments in a new role helping participants in Copper Shores Bridges connect to local community resources. Freeman has been with Copper Shores since late 2022, filling many roles at Meals on Wheels, always lending a helping hand.
“Zane stood out as someone who genuinely cares about others,” Copper Shores Community Support Coordinator Amy Baker said. “He is excited to put in the effort the position requires, and can see ‘outside the box,’ offering a wider perspective on many situations.”
Already a proven team player, effective communicator and reliable coworker, Freeman is tech savvy and learning the new role quickly.
“[Copper Shores] is my first time working for a nonprofit,” said Freeman. “I’ve done volunteer work ever since I was a kid. My parents taught me that it's good to do any time you can. It’s turning out to be my favorite job ever.”
As the intermediary for Bridges investigators and the individuals that offer community services, Freeman will be helping people achieve their personal goals. Whether connecting someone to a college admissions officer, helping someone find housing and utility services, or pointing someone toward anxiety resources, Freeman is dedicated to advocating for investigators' success.
“I’ve been through it,” said Freeman. “I know what it’s like to be in poverty and I’m still working my way out of the hole.”
Freeman looks forward to connecting with Bridges investigators and their families, and helping them walk their path to stability and wellbeing.
