Thanks to careful planning and countless hours of preparation last summer and fall, Copper Shores Meals on Wheels is continuing to serve local seniors local food, even in the dead of winter. As cold temperatures push on, the Meals on Wheels team is warming seniors from the inside out with cozy and hardy meals.
Several meals in February feature ingredients that have been sourced from local farmers and producers, including:
- Friday, February 6 - Beef stew served with a dinner roll and fresh fruit, made using beef from Buried Stone Farms.
- Friday, February 13 - Baked fish with a vegetable medley, rice and fresh fruit, prepared with fish from Peterson’s Fish Market.
- Tuesday, February 17 - BBQ pork sandwich with a side of vegetables and cottage cheese, made with pork from Buried Stone Farms.
- Friday, February 27 - Lamb stew with a whole wheat roll and raspberry crumble, prepared with lamb from Kropf Family Farm.
