November's menu has been made extra special by repeat donors, Krupp’s Mini Mart in Twin Lakes, and Rock Harbor Lodge on Isle Royale. Their generosity not only helps us offset meal costs, but more importantly, puts a smile on seniors' faces.

At the end of September, the Ranger III made its last trip from Isle Royale for the winter, and with it came a large donation from Rock Harbor Lodge. Meals on Wheels excitedly picked up the donation right from the docks, and now gets to feature those ingredients throughout the month.

Also joining in on the generosity is Krupp’s Mini Mart. Seniors are being treated to another round of fresh and delicious pasties from Krupp’s, who also donated their time preparing it. Many seniors look forward to “pasty day,” eagerly awaiting a bite of nostalgia and home.

Some of this month’s meals include:

  • Thursday, November 6 - Pasties from Krupp’s Mini Mart.
  • Wednesday, November 12 - Cheeseburgers, tater tots, vegetable medley and fruited jello, with ground beef and tater tots from Rock Harbor Lodge.
  • Wednesday, November 19 - Turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and a dinner roll, prepared with potatoes from Minnie Farms.
  • Tuesday, November 25 - Corned beef and cabbage, vegetables, and fruited jello, made using cabbage from Ghost House Farm.

Meals on Wheels is always happy to work with local restaurants and will accept donations of any size.
