About Melissa Helppi

I'm an Air Force brat so have moved around a lot in my life. The Copper Country has always felt like home, and is where my parents are from originally. I have lived in the Keweenaw for many years and don't plan to ever leave, it's a beauitful place like no other! I love that we have all 4 seasons, they each have their own magic for me, but summer in the UP is my favorite and we have so many great beaches. I enjoy hiking, camping, photography, flower and berry picking, cooking, baking, and crafts. I am married and have 4 children, and 2 grandchildren. I earned my BSN from Finlandia, and my MSN from Western Governors University. I hold multiple Nursing positions around the community because I love being a Nurse!

Your Why

It is very rewarding to use my speciality training to care for patients who have experienced sexual assault. It is also great to be a part of Copper Shores, who as a collaborative gives back to the community is so many helpful ways to help keep the Copper Country happy, healthy and strong.
