Play for a purpose at the fourth annual Meals on Wheels fundraiser

Bingo 2026 - 1x1Community members are invited to the fourth annual Bingo Bonanza at The Bluffs on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 6 to 8 p.m. Hosted by Copper Shores Community Health Foundation and The Bluffs Senior Community, all proceeds from this fun-filled fundraiser support our local Meals on Wheels program.

Entry and gameplay

Attendees can play all night for $15 or purchase additional bingo cards for even more gameplay. Seating is limited to the first 150 participants, with doors opening at 5 p.m. to give attendees time to find their seats, purchase concessions and get ready for a night of community fun.

The cost of entry includes two cards for each round and an automatic chance to win the grand prize. With more than $1,000 in prizes awarded throughout the night, everybody has a chance to take something exciting home. Bingo Bonanza features four 20 minute rounds of bingo, each with a fun and memorable twist that will bring out smiles and laughter.

National Assisted Living Week

“Bingo Bonanza at The Bluffs started four years ago during National Assisted Living Week as a way for us to give back and to get our residents involved in the community,” said Abbie Parker, business office director at The Bluffs. “It was a smashing success that we knew needed to continue.”

Many folks face increasing isolation as they age, which can be detrimental to not only mental health, but physical health as well. The Surgeon General’s 2023 report “Our Epidemic of Isolation and Loneliness,” states that feelings of loneliness and isolation lead to an increased risk of premature death by 26 and 29 percent respectively. This report underpins the important work that Meals on Wheels does, providing not only flavorful and nutritionally balanced meals, but friendly, and sometimes life-saving, daily check-ins from dedicated delivery drivers.

“Connection is important for supporting any senior's overall well-being,” said Jessica Mills, Meals on Wheels program director. “It improves moods, strengthens relationships, and helps to provide a sense of purpose and belonging. Bingo is a great way to combat isolation and help seniors socialize, build new friendships and interact with their community in a fun way.”
