Why give through Copper Shores?
Every penny donated goes straight to the organization(s) of your choosing. Many nonprofits rely greatly on donors from GivingTuesday, making now the perfect time to find a cause close to your heart. Donations made during GivingTuesday get amplified by a $200,000 amplification fund. If more than $200,000 is donated, nonprofits will receive a portion of the $200,000 equal to the proportion of total GivingTuesday donations they receive.
Copper Shores has facilitated more than $4 million in donations to local nonprofit organizations in the Houghton, Keweenaw, Baraga and Ontonagon counties over eight years of GivingTuesday.
What is GivingTuesday?
Held annually on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, GivingTuesday has grown to be the single largest day of fundraising for charities and organizations across the country. This day of radical generosity serves as a kick-off to the holiday giving season, where individuals can give back to the community and donate to the organizations that mean the most to them.
Donations open in mid November. To receive an email notification when donations open, sign up for the free monthly Copper Shores email newsletter. Learn more about #GiveCopperCountry and GivingTuesday in the Copper Country at coppershores.org/givingtuesday.
