There will be major disruptions to Copper Shores Meals on Wheels services Monday, June 16 through Monday, June 23, 2025 due to construction taking place at the building that houses the program’s kitchen and office on Water Street in Hancock.
Special home meal deliveries will be made on Tuesday and Thursday that week. Meet & Eat sites will be closed during that time. Seniors and their caretakers can still reach Copper Shores staff at 1 (906) 483-1155 during business hours, though availability will be limited on some days due to training activities.
The investment in the building includes replacing the roof, updating utilities, adding a garage and making improvements to the offices in order to welcome more Copper Shores Community Health Foundation staff to the building. This kitchen closure should be the only one during the project, which is expected to be completed by September 2025.
This building and property it sits on was donated to Copper Shores in 2024 by UP Health System-Portage.
