Copper Shores Victim Support is opening the doors of their office and Child Advocacy Center on Monday, September 21, 2026. The Victim Support Open House has two sessions: 8:30 to 10 a.m. and 4:30 to 6 p.m. Attendees can stop by during either session to tour the center and learn more about the practical function of the CAC, explore the full scope of Victim Support and meet the staff members behind each service.
Victim Support is available in the Copper Country 24/7/365, providing vital services to anybody that has experienced suicide loss, elder abuse, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, human trafficking and more.
“Our job is to empower victims and make sure they know their options,” Program Director Virginia Lambert said. “We continue to see an increase in the number of victims we serve, as well as an increase in prosecution rates, but those changes don’t happen without community action.”
Supporting community members as they seek healing and justice isn't the responsibility of one group alone. It takes the collective action of educational institutions, churches, businesses, agencies and everyday people to build a safer, more resilient community.
Copper Shores Victim Support is located in the Portage Plaza near Festival Foods at Unit 5, 47431 State Highway M26 in Houghton.
